JUDGMENT

(delivered by R. MAHADEVAN, J.) According to the appellant / writ petitioner, he has filed a writ petition in WP. No. 29318 of 2023 seeking a mandamus directing the respondents to give him employment on compassionate ground, considering the pitiable plight of his family owing to the demise of his father in harness, by considering his representation dated 11.07.2023. The learned Judge, by order dated 10.10.2023, dismissed the said writ petition. Challenging the same, the present writ appeal came to be filed before this court.

Today, when the matter was taken up for admission, the learned counsel appearing for the appellant produced a copy of the communication dated 10.10.2023 addressed by the Deputy Secretary to Government, Home (Pol.-15) Department to the second respondent, whereby and whereunder, the appellant's representation dated 11.07.2023 seeking employment on compassionate ground, has been forwarded to the second respondent, for appropriate action and also due intimation of the action taken, to himself as well to the appellant. Therefore, the learned counsel submitted that it would suffice, if the said communication is acted upon by the authorities concerned 2/4

and orders passed within a period this Court stipulates, for which, Mr.M.Shahjahan, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents, did not raise any objection.

In view of the limited relief sought by the learned counsel for the appellant, which has not been seriously opposed on the side of the respondent authorities, this court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the respondents to consider the appellant's representation dated 11.07.2023 and pass appropriate orders purely on merits and in accordance with law, and also in the light of the communication dated 10.10.2023 referred to above, as expeditiously as possible, preferably, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment.

This writ appeal stands disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
