The present Writ Petition (Criminal) has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents, particularly the 2nd respondent, to conduct an enquiry in accordance with law in compliance with the guidelines issued by the Tamil Nadu Police Department vide circular Memorandum Rc.No. 2029209/General.1 (1)/2022 dated 01.04.2022, and consequently, issue a Non-Traceable Certificate in respect of the lost original sale deed dated 23.07.1999 (DOC No.949/1999, SRO Saidapet Joint -II) and Settlement Deed dated 26.12.2014 (Doc No. 2973/2014, SRO Saidapet Joint-II, relating to the situated at Flat No.C, Ground Floor, S.R.Hill Crest Apartments, Plot No. 60, Rayala Nagar, Ramapuram, Chennai- 600 089, pursuant to the petitioner's complaint dated 23.06.2025, within such time frame as may be fixed by this Court.

In view of the consent expressed by the learned counsel on either side, this Writ Petition (Criminal) is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner had lost his original title documents and therefore, given a complaint dated 23.06.2025 seeking to trace the documents or, in the alternative, to issue a Non-Traceable Certificate. However, till date, no enquiry has been conducted.

Per contra, the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondents would submit that, if the petitioner appears before the respondents on the date fixed and complies with the requirements as stated in the circular dated 01.04.2022 issued by the Director General of Police in RC.No.2029209/Gen 1(1)/2022, the representation/complaint of the petitioner will be duly considered and orders will be passed in accordance with law.

Recording the submissions made by the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side), this Court directs the petitioner to appear before the respondents on the date fixed and furnish all particulars as required under 3/6
the aforesaid circular issued by the Director General of Police. On receipt of such particulars, the respondent Police shall consider the same and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks, from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 7.
With the above directions, this Writ Petition (Criminal) stands disposed of. No costs.
