ORDER

The present criminal original petition has been filed seeking a direction to the learned District and Sessions Judge, Nagappattinam, to conduct trial in S.C.No.51 of 2015 as expeditiously as possible on a day to day basis and complete the same within a stipulated time frame.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that on 14.8.2003, her husband was murdered and on his death, a case was registered in Crime No.181 of 2003 and after investigation, charge sheet was filed before the learned Judicial Magistrate at Vedaranyam and the same was taken on file as P.R.C.No.16 of 2008. After committal, now, the case is pending before the learned District and Sessions Judge, Nagappattinam, in S.C.No.51 of 2015. Though the occurrence had taken place in the year 2003, till date, the trial has not commenced. Hence, seeking early disposal of the said case, the petitioner has come up with the present petition. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side), who took notice for the respondent.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court directs the learned District and Sessions Judge, Nagapattinam, to dispose of S.C.No.51 of 2015, pending on his file, as expeditiously as possible, preferably, within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The criminal original petition is disposed of accordingly.
