Petition filed under Article 226 of The Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the fourth respondent (Sub Registrar, Natrampalli) not to entertain or register any sale deed, mortgage, gift, lease, or any other document of encumbrance in respect of the lands in Survey Nos.5 and 10 of Mel Patchur Village, Natramballi Taluk, pending the final disposal of the enquiry by the first respondent (DRO) as mandated by this Court in W.P.No.50315 of 2025 dated 05.01.2026.

ORDER
Asserting that errors were committed during the UDR period, the petitioner had filed W.P.No.50315 of 2025 before this Court. Said writ petition was disposed of by order dated 05.01.2026 directing the District Revenue Officer to conduct an enquiry in relation to the alleged UDR errors. According to the petitioner, respondents 5 to 17 are attempting to alienate the relevant properties or creating encumbrances in relation thereto. Therefore, the petitioner seeks to restrain the registration of the conveyances relating to the property pending disposal of the proceedings before the District Revenue Officer.

2. Mr.U.Baranidharan, learned Special Government Pleader, accepts notice for respondents 1 to 4. He submits that the petitioner's representation dated 20.11.2025 would be treated as protest petition and dealt with if any documents of conveyances relating to relevant property were to be received.
3. The registering officer is under a statutory obligation to consider a request for registration. Therefore, a blanket direction not to receive any documents for registration, as requested for by the petitioner, cannot be granted. The petitioner has submitted a representation dated 20.11.2025 objecting to the registration of conveyances. If a document of conveyance relating to relevant property were to be received by the registering officer, the petitioner's protest petition should be dealt with in accordance with Rules 54 and 55 of the Registration Rules.
4. With the above observations, this writ petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
