This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 3 to deal with the representation made by the petitioner on 26.07.2024 wherein the petitioner is seeking for cancellation of patta that stands in the name of the fourth respondent in Patta No.179.

2. Heard Mr.S.Tamilselvan, learned counsel for petitioner and Mr.M.R.Gokulkrishnan, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for respondents 1 to 3.

3. Learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the official respondents submitted that the petitioner is claiming right and title over the subject property through a registered sale deed dated 10.05.1973. However, 2/4

subsequently, the property has changed hands three times between the years 2018 and 2020. Therefore, without questioning those documents, the petitioner has sought for the cancellation of patta standing in the name of the fourth respondent.

4. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that all those three documents were executed based on the patta that was granted in favour of the fourth respondent. Therefore, the petitioner is seeking for cancellation of patta granted in favour of the fourth respondent.

5. In the considered view of this Court, it is not necessary for this Court to go into the merits of the case. It is left open to the second respondent to take a decision on the representation made by the petitioner on 26.07.2024 and convey the decision to the petitioner within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
