Respondents PRAYER: This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents and/or their subordinates to register the vehicle bearing Chasis No.WP12ZZ9P28LA46294MOD, imported by the petitioner vide Bill of Entry No.619109 dated 6.12.2007 without collecting any Entry Tax under the provisions of the Tamil Nadu Tax on Entry of Motor Vehicles into Local Areas Act, 1990.

O R D E R

The learned Government counsel appearing on behalf of the Respondents/Department made a submission that during the pendency of the writ petition the balance arrears of Entry Tax due i.e. a sum of Rs.6,41,307/- was paid by the petitioner on 11.09.2021 [vide IOB, Madurai Cheque No.127710 dated 11.09.2021].

2. In view of the fact that the petitioner has paid the Entry Tax as demanded, no further adjudication needs to be undertaken. Accordingly, the writ petition stands disposed of. No Costs. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
