ORDER
The writ petition is filed for the issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents 2 and 4 to return the petitioners Original Passport having No. Z2110192 issued by the 2nd respondents Office on 1.6.2011 at Kualaumpur, which is valid upto 31.5.2021 by recalling the LoC issued by the 2nd respondent in KUA/CONS/405/19/13 dt 26.9.2013 referred in the Certificate dt 17.7.2014 issued by the Senior Immigration Officer, Bureau of Immigration, Chennai International Airport, Chennai the 4th respondent herein.
2. It is the specific case of the petitioner that he has not made any complaint about his passport missing. However, he was surprised to note that a Look Out Notice was issued against him on the ground that the petitioner has given a complaint that passport was missing. Resultantly, the petitioner's passport was impounded.
3. The learned counsel for the respondents submitted that the records would show that the petitioner made a request for re-issuance of new passport. Thereafter, on enquiry, petitioner's original passport has been taken away from him. The request made by the petitioner for returning the passport be considered, if the same is made in accordance with law.
4. Considering the submissions made, a direction is issued to the respondent No.3 to look into the grievance of the petitioner dated 22.7.2014 and take appropriate steps to return the passport taken away from him within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
