O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent to investigate the case and file final report in Crime No.114 of 2015 pending on his file, within a time stipulated by this Court.

2. The case of the petitioner is that he has filed a private complaint against his daughter-in-law and her family members before the learned Judicial Magistrate, Mettupalayam, who, in turn, directed the respondent police to register the complaint lodged by the petitioner. Accordingly, the respondent police has registered a FIR in Crime No.114 of 2015 for the offences punishable under Sections 294(b), 323, 341, 352 and 506(i) IPC. Though the complaint was registered on 20.04.2015, till date, final report was not filed. Hence, this petition.

3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, who took notice for the respondent.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and taking note of the fact that the FIR is pending from the year 2015, this Court directs the respondent to complete the investigation and file final report in Crime No.114 of 2015 pending on his file, if not already filed, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The Criminal Original Petition is disposed of accordingly.
