PRAYER IN WP NO.7350 / 2008: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Certiorari, to call for the records of the respondents in connection with the impugned orders passed by the 1st respondent in GO No.1821 Public Law & Order (E) Department dated 28.11.2007 and the consequential charge memo issued by the 2nd respondent in PR No.52/2008 dated 12.03.2008 and quash the same. PRAYER IN WP NO.7639 / 2008: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, to call for the records of the respondents in connection with the impugned order passed by the 1st respondent in GO (2D) No.155, Home (Police-IA) Department, dated 18.03.2008 and quash the same and further direct the respondents to reinstate the petitioner into service with all consequential service and monetary benefits.

PRAYER IN WP NO.8667 / 2008: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, to call for the records of the respondents in connection with the impugned orders passed by the 1st respondent in GO (2D) No.198, Home (Police-1A) Department,

dated 31.03.2008 and quash the same and direct the respondents to superannuate the petitioner from service and grant him all consequential service and monetary benefits.

Mr.C.Selvaraj (in all WPs') Government Advocate (Civil side) COMMON ORDER These writ petitions are directed against the suspension order, charge memo and the order not permitting the petitioner to retire from service, issued by the first respondent, in GO No.1821 Public Law & Order (E) Department dated 28.11.2007; GO (2D) No.155, Home (Police-IA) Department, dated 18.03.2008; and GO (2D) No.198, Home (Police-1A) Department, dated 31.03.2008 respectively.

2.The learned Senior Counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner would submit that after filing of these writ petitions, the enquiry proceedings have been continued and it is at the final stage and so far, the Government has not passed any final order. Therefore, he would pray that a direction may be issued to the respondents to pass final orders within a stipulated time.

3.Heard the submissions made by the learned Senior Counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner and Mr.C.Selvaraj, learned Government Advocate (Civil Side) appearing on behalf of the respondents.

4.Considering the limited prayer, without going into the merits of the case, a direction is given to the respondents to pass final orders in the disciplinary proceedings initiated against the petitioner pursuant to G.O.(2D) No.155, Home (Police-1A) Department, dated 18.03.2008, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, if the order has not been passed already.

5.The Writ Petitions are disposed of with the above direction. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
