Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider and pass orders on the representation made by the petitioner dated 29.12.2017 and to grant crop insurance claim for the petitioner's agricultural land that have been insured by the petitioner to the 2nd respondent covered under "Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana" (PMFBY) scheme for the year 2016-2017 in Sembai block of Nagapattinam District, within a time frame fixed by this Hon'ble Court.

Mr.D.Suriya Narayanan, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for the first respondent. By consent of the parties, the main writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. The petitioner seeks for a mandamus directing the respondents to consider his representation dated 29.12.2017, wherein and whereby he sought for granting crop insurance to his https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
agricultural land, which is covered under Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) scheme for the year 2016-2017.
4. The grievance of the petitioner before this Court, is that the said request has not been considered so far. This Court, at this stage, is not expressing any view on the claim made by the petitioner, as it is for the first respondent to consider and decide the same. Thus, this writ petition is disposed of, only with a direction to the first respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 29.12.2017 and pass orders on the same on merits and in accordance with law, after giving due opportunity of hearing to the petitioner. Such exercise shall be done by the first respondent within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
