ORDER
(Made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) It is evident that the petitioner has some axe to grind against the eighth respondent who has been granted citizenship in this country.
2. The petitioner claims that the eighth respondent has been maligning the petitioner and others in the media. This is an argument of prejudice and completely irrelevant in the context of the propriety of the Union in according citizenship to the eighth respondent. There does not appear to be any element of public interest and the petition appears to have been instituted on the basis of the personal angst of the petitioner against the eighth respondent. However, to the extent that certain perceived irregularities in the matter of the grant of citizenship to the eighth respondent has been pointed out, it will be open to the Union to consider the matter afresh in
accordance with law upon affording due opportunity of hearing to the eighth respondent.
3. W.P.No.7059 of 2020 is disposed of with the above observation. There will be no order as to costs. Consequently, W.M.P.No.8417 of 2020 is closed.
