The Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to fix the seniority of the petitioner who have been sent for training in the second batch on 21.05.2000 along with the direct recruits, who have been sent for training in the first batch on 16.04.1999 by clubbing two batches, based on the marks secured by them in the process of selection and also based on the marks secured in the Police Training College at the end of the Institutional Training as per the Rules and further promote the petitioner as Inspector of Police and pass such further orders.

The Writ Petition has been filed seeking to direct the respondents to fix the seniority of the petitioner who has https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

been sent for training in the second batch on 21.05.2000 along with the direct recruits who have been sent for training in the first batch on 16.04.1999 by clubbing two batches, based on the marks secured by them in the process of selection and also based on the marks secured in the Police Training College at the end of the Institutional Training as per the Rules and further promote the petitioner as Inspector of Police

2. During the course of argument, the learned counsel for the petitioner confined his prayer to direct the 1st and 2nd respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 27.07.2009 and pass orders within the time fixed by this Court. The learned Government Advocate would submit that if the said representation is still pending, the same will be considered within the period stipulated by this Court.

3. Considering the submission of the learned counsel for the petitioner, restricting his prayer for the limited scope, this Court is inclined to direct the 2nd respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 27.07.2009 on merits, in accordance with law and pass orders as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is needless to say that the petitioner shall enclose a copy of her representation, along with this order.

4. The Writ Petition is disposed of, on the above terms. No costs.
