Respondents Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to consider the claim of the petitioner for inclusion of his name in the C List of Sub-Inspector of Police fit for promotion as Inspector of Police for the year 2007-08 published by the second respondent in R.C. No.139330/NGB 1(1)/ 2007 dated 26.12.2007 and promote the petitioner as Inspector of Police and grant him all consequential service, monetary benefits at par with his junior.

The petitioner has come to this Court seeking a direction to the respondents to consider his claim for inclusion of his name in the C List of Sub-Inspector of Police fit for promotion as Inspector of Police for the year 2007-08 published by the second respondent in R.C. No.139330/NGB 1(1)/2007 dated 26.12.2007 and promote him as Inspector of Police and grant him all consequential service, monetary benefits on par with his junior. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
2.Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that during the pendency of the writ petition, the petitioner suffered a disciplinary proceeding, whereby he was dismissed from service.
3.When the petitioner had already suffered an order of dismissal, the prayer in the writ petition seeking promotion has become infructuous. Accordingly, the writ petition is dismissed as infructuous. No costs.
