This petition has been filed to direct the respondents to give police protection to the petitioners based on the representation dated 26.02.2016.

2.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the respondents. 3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor on instructions would submit that a case has been registered in https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

Crime.No.30 of 2016, against the accused persons and a counter case was also filed in Crime No.29 of 2016 against the petitioners. Subsequently, the petitioners were released on bail in Crime No.30 of 2016.

4.It is seen that the case in Crime No.30 of 2016 was registered in the year 2016. Now, almost three years have been lapsed and hence, due to the lapse of period, the prayer sought for by the petitioner cannot be considered. However, liberty is granted to the petitioner to file a fresh petition, on fresh cause of action, if so advised.

5.With the above observations, this Criminal Original Petition is Closed.
