Mr.C.Jayaprakash, learned Government Advocate accepts notice for R1 and R2 and Mr.Abdul Saleem, learned Counsel accepts notice for R3 and both are armed with instructions to proceed with the matter finally. Hence, by consent expressed by both learned counsel, this Writ Petition is disposed finally even at the stage of admission.
2. The mandamus sought for by the petitioner is for a direction to R1, i.e., the Principal Secretary, Department of Agriculture to recognize the status of the petitioner's college, namely, Don Bosco College of Agriculture, Sagayathottam, Thakkolam, Arakkonam Taluk, Ranipettai District, as a Christian Religious Minority Educational Institution by taking note of the petitioner's application/memorandum dated 15.03.2021 and subsequent reminder dated 09.08.2021.
3. Learned counsel for the petitioner, in this regard, would rely upon Government Order G.O.Ms.No.270 Higher Education J1 dated 17.06.1998 setting out guidelines in this regard.
4. Learned counsel appearing for R1 would assure the Court that the application of the petitioner would be considered and disposed within a period of six (6) weeks from today, after hearing the petitioner and in line with the guidelines set out in the aforesaid Government Order.
5. Recording the aforesaid, as mandamus sought for stands achieved, this Writ Petition is disposed. No costs. Connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
