dated 23.12.25, together with 18 percent interest per annum, within a time frame COMMON ORDER These Writ Petitions have been filed praying for direction to the Respondent to pay the petitioners the difference / arrears of terminal benefits namely Gratuity and Encashment of Leave, after revising the same based on the scale of pay payable to them from 01.09.23, as admitted by the Respondent in the RTI information, together with 18 % interest per annum, within a time frame as may be fixed by this Court.

Since the issue raised in these writ petitions is one and the same, these writ petitions are disposed of by way of this common order.

The petitioners in WP.Nos.4140 & 4266 of 2026, while working as Special Grade Conductor in the respondent Corporation, retired on 31.07.2024 & 30.11.2023 respectively, whereas the petitioner in WP.No.4147 of 2026, while working as Special Grade Driver in the respondent Corporation, retired on 30.06.2024, on superannuation. All the petitioners retired from service before the wage settlement arrived at between the managements of TNSTCs and Trade Unions, which was given retrospective effect from 01.09.2023. Therefore, the petitioners are entitled to be paid the arrears of terminal benefits after revising
the same. Hence, the petitioners made representations to the respondent and the same have not considered so far. Hence, these writ petitions have been filed. 4.
The learned counsel appearing for the petitioners submits that, it would suffice, if this Court issues a direction to the respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioners' representations dated 05.01.2026, on merits and in accordance with law, within a time frame that may be fixed by this Court. 5.
In view of the limited request sought for by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioners, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the cases, directs the respondent to consider the petitioners' representations dated 05.01.2026, on merits and in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders, within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. With the above direction, all the Writ Petitions are disposed of. No costs.
