..Respondent(s) Prayer : This Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the petitioners representation dated 11.10.2025 and to make the payment of Rs.25,33,380/- for the additional work carried out by the petitioner to complete the tender work to provide CWSS to Thittakudi, Pennadam, Gangaikondan,
Vadalur, Kurinjipadi, Mangalampetti T.P. and 625 rural habitations in Nallur, Mangalore and Virdhachalam Union of Cuddalore District with NLC mine water as source as per the work order in LR. No. FNLC- PJ/ DO/ CE/ VLR/ 2020 dated 04.11.2020 and also to revoke the liquidated damage imposed in Lr. No.F. CWSS to Thittakudi-Pkg-III/ JDO/ PD/ CUD/ 2023 dated 25.09.2023 on the file of the 4th respondent.

ORDER
The petitioner is a class-I contractor. He applied for and obtained a work order for execution of works. However, due to the Covid-19 lockdown and the notification of the General Election in 2021, the work could not be completed within time. Nonetheless on 22.08.2024, the petitioner completed the work and handed over the area to the satisfaction of the respondents.
2. Despite the completion of the work, the petitioner has not been paid for the additional works executed by him. To add insult to injury, liquidated damages have been imposed by the respondent and the additional expenses incurred to the tune of Rs.25,33,380/- has not been disbursed.
3. Pointing out that the delay was on account of the pandemic and the General Election, the petitioner made a representation on 11.10.2025. As no action was forthcoming, the petitioner is before this Court.
4. Mr.Silambanan, learned Senior Counsel for Ms.Shakila Bhanu for TWAD Board, on instructions, states that the request of the petitioner shall be gone into by the respondent and appropriate orders will be passed on merits, within a period of eight weeks from today.
5. The statement made by the learned Senior Counsel is recorded. The respondent is directed to pass appropriate orders as undertaken.
