O R D E R

The petitioner has filed this Writ Petition challenging the impugned order dated 25.06.2007 passed by the 1st respondent in R.No.A4/23746/2007 directing the petitioner to pay a sum of Rs.81,000/- towards the Motor Vehicle Tax.

2.Heard the parties on both sides and perused the materials placed on record.

3.The learned Senior Counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner had already paid a sum of Rs.8,100/- as per Clause (c) of Section 6 of the Tamil Nadu Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 1974, being 1/10th of the quarterly tax instead of a sum of Rs.81,000/-, which is also in fine-tune with the ratio laid down by this Court in W.P.No.20025 of 2000 by order dated 07.04.2003 and therefore, sought for a suitable direction.

4.The learned Additional Government Pleader also fairly conceded the above submission and submitted that the vehicle of the petitioner was also released and produced a copy of the letter in Na.Ka.No.26721A42009 dated 09.07.2009 in this regard. 5.Recording the submission of the learned Additional Government Pleader that the vehicle was released on payment of Rs.8,100/- as per Clause (c) of Section 6 of the Act, being 1/10th of the quarterly tax, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
