Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to pass orders on the petitioner's representation dated 28.12.2018 within a stipulated time as may be framed by this Court.

According to the petitioner, he was originally appointed as Pharmacist at Sillathur Primary Health Centre in Orathanadu Taluk, Thanjavur District on 20.10.2010 and he was subsequently transferred to Tiruvarur Government Medical College on 18.03.2016. It is the grievance of the petitioner that though he is qualified for appointment to the post of Librarian - Grade I by way of promotion, his candidature was not considered by the respondent. Hence, he made a representation, dated 28.12.2018 to the respondent and the same is pending without any consideration. Hence, this writ petition.

2. Heard Mr.B.Vijay Karthikeyan, learned counsel for the petitioner and M/s. Thangavadhana Balakrishnan, learned Government Advocate taking notice for the respondent.

3. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and having regard regard to the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, this Court, without going into the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

merits of the matter, directs the respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 28.12.2018, on merits and in accordance with law, and pass orders after affording an opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The writ petition is disposed of in the above terms. No costs.
