ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by S.M.Subramaniam J.) Writ Petition has been instituted to direct 1st respondent to take necessary steps and measures to remove the encroachments and clear all occupants thereon in the petitioner's landed property viz. 1.25 acres in Survey No.94B and 1800 sq.ft. in Survey No.94A at Tirusoolam Village, Tambaram Taluk, enabling the petitioner to take possession of its land of 1.25 acres in Survey No.94B and 1800 sq.ft in Survey No.94A at Tirusoolam Village, Tambaram Taluk.
2. Learned Additional Government Pleader relying on the status report filed by the District Collector, Chengalpet would submit that issues between the parties have been resolved. The status report paragraph Nos.8 to 10 reads as under, "8. It is respectfully submitted that after discussion with the participants of the meeting, considering the functioning of the public utilities in
S.No.94B, it was suggested by the Additional Chief Secretary to Government to give an alternate site to an extent of 0.87 acre to Chennai Port Trust in around Tirusulam village. But, the District Collector, Chengalpattu has informed that there are no vacant Government lands are available in and around Tirusulam village. The Deputy Chairman of Chennai Port Trust has accepted the suggestion and he has requested that if no such lands are available in and around their area in Tirusulam village, he has requested to give an alternate site nearby Chennai Port Trust in Chennai District. In this regard it was pointed out by the Deputy Chairman that already an extent of 9.00 acres of Government land was allotted to INS and if the alternate land near INS is allotted to them, they are ready to accept, In this regard, it was discussed that the land with equal value of the land in Tirusulam village or equal extent of land may be allotted to Chennai Port Trust as an alternate land.

It is furthermore respectfully submitted that for selection of an alternate land in Chennai district for Chennai Port Trust, it was decided to form a Committee under the Chairmanship of the District Revenue Officer, Chennai district along with the Assistant Director of Survey, Chennai and Assistant Director of Fisheries to chose an alternate land for Chennai Port Trust. The Deputy Chairman of Chennai Port Trust has accepted the decision and the issue has amicably been settled.

It is respectfully submitted that in the meeting held by the Additional Chief Secretary to Government, Revenue and Disaster Management Department, on 29.5.2025, the matter has amicably been settled in a way that the functioning of public utilities such as PDS outlet, e-seva centre, Community Hall. Temple, Pond etc. is not hampered."
3. In view of the amicable settlement between the parties, the issues raised in the present writ petition deserves no further adjudication. Consequently, the writ petition is closed. No costs. The connected miscellaneous petitions, if any, are closed.
