Prayer: Writ Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, to call for the records relating to the impugned ineligible list of candidates after CV for the subject Zoology in No.Nil dated 22.01.2026 issued by the 3rd respondent and the subsequent impugned provisional selection list for the subject Zoology in No.Nil dated 22.01.2026 issued by the 3rd respondent and to quash the same insofar as not considering the petitioner for selection is concerned and consequently, directing the official respondents to select and appoint the petitioner to the post of P.G. Assistant (Zoology) under BC CAT-1 (VI) based on the marks secured in the selection with all consequential benefits. For Petitioner :

O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed challenging the impugned ineligible list of candidates issued by the third respondent in No.Nil dated 22.01.2026, after

Certificate Verification for the subject Zoology and the subsequent impugned provisional selection list for the subject Zoology in No.Nil dated 22.01.2026 issued by the 3rd respondent and quash the same insofar as not considering the petitioner for selection is concerned and for a consequential direction to the official respondents to select and appoint the petitioner to the post of P.G.Assistant (Zoology) under BC CAT-1 (VI) based on the marks secured in the selection with all consequential benefits.

2. The petitioner applied for the post of Post Graduate Assistant in Zoology under BC CAT-1 (VI), reserved category, in pursuant to the Notification issued by the 3rd respondent dated 10.07.2025. After conducting written examination, the 3rd respondent published the results, wherein, the petitioner scored 79 marks. The petitioner's name has been shortlisted for Certificate Verification as per the Notification for backlog vacancies category-I on 27.11.2025. The petitioner has also attended Certificate Verification on 09.12.2025 and when the provisional list was published by the 3rd respondent on 22.01.2026, the petitioner's name has been shown in Serial No.9 of ineligible list of candidates after Certificate Verification for the subject Zoology. According to the petitioner, since only one post of P.G. Assistant (Zoology) was

earmarked for BC CAT-1 (VI) category, backlog vacancy has been sought to be reverted as regular under BC category vacancy and one M.Rathish- 4th respondent herein has been included in the selection list for the said vacancy and the petitioner's candidature for the said post has been declined on the ground that the degree qualification obtained by the petitioner is ineligible by relying upon G.O.Ms.No.169 dated 26.08.2022. Challenging the same, the petitioner is before this Court.

3. It is not in dispute that the petitioner was called for Certificate Verification. However, at the time of publication of the results, the name of the petitioner has not been included. It is the specific case of the respondents that the petitioner has secured only 79 marks and it is not disputed by the petitioner that the cut-off marks for BC Category is 88 marks and therefore, on that score itself, the case of the petitioner for being considered for the said post has to be negatived. Further, in the aforesaid background, there is no necessity for this Court to enter into the area as to whether M.Sc., (Applied Microbiology) degree qualification obtained by the petitioner is equivalent to M.Sc., (Microbiology) and such scenario does not arise in view of the lower marks secured by the petitioner. Therefore, for the reasons aforestated, this Writ Petition is closed.

There shall be no order as to costs. Connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
