Respondents Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to give appointment to the petitioner on compassionate grounds consequent on the death of the father, Thiru.P.Mahendran on 25.09.2011 while in service as Nutritious Meals Organiser in Anaicut Panchayat Union, Vellore District. O R D E R

The grievance of the petitioner is that his father expired on 25.09.2011, while he was in service, leaving behind his legal heirs. The petitioner has given a representation to the 1st respondent on 19.12.2011 seeking for compassionate appointment. He has also given a detailed representation to the 1st respondent on 10.02.2018 with regard to the above, but the same was not considered. Hence, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition seeking appropriate relief.

2. Mr.A.N.Thambidurai, learned Special Government Pleader takes notice for respondents 1 and 2 and Mr.S.N.Parathasarathi, learned Government Advocate takes notice for the 3rd respondent and they have submitted that the representation of the petitioner would be considered on merits and in accordance with law, within the time stipulated by this Court.

3. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, without going into the merits of the matter, the first respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 10.02.2018, on merits and in accordance with law, and pass orders after affording an opportunity of personal hearing to the petitioner, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The writ petition is disposed of in the above terms. No costs.
