Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to treat the petitioner as having become eligible for premature release under G.O.Ms.No.1155 Home (Prison - IV) Department dated 11.09.2008 and to consider the petitioner for premature release immediately. O R D E R

The petitioner sought for a direction to the respondents to consider him for premature release as having undergone ten years of actual imprisonment and he is above the age of 60 years.

2.When the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Government Pleader produced an order passed by the first respondent in G.O.(Ms) No.641, Home (Prison-IV) Department, dated 02.07.2018 wherein the case of the petitioner was considered and the unexpired portion of sentence of imprisonment for life imposed on the petitioner was remitted and he was released from prison prematurely.

3.Since the relief sought for by the petitioner has been satisfied, nothing survives for further adjudication in the writ petition and accordingly, the writ petition is dismissed as infructuous. No costs.
