ORDER

(Order of the court was made by HULUVADI G.RAMESH,ACJ.) The writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a mandamus directing respondent No.1 to consider and decide the representation of the petitioner dated 03.02.2018 on merits and in accordance with law within a reasonable time as may be determined by the Honourable Court.

2. According to the petitioner, the Government directed for Ward, Councilor constituencies to be revamped and Ward Nos. 6 and 7 in Pudhukurichi, Ward No.3 in Karai, Varagupadi Village and Siruganpur Village are joined together as Siruganpur Councilor constituency. The grievance of the petitioner is that it takes more than 15 kilometres to travel from Pudhukurichi to Sirunganpur and Ward Nos.4, 5, 8 and 9 in Karai Village and Therani Village are joined together as Therani Councilor constituency and the said alterations had split the Karai Village Panchayat into three parts and thereby caused inconvenience to the public and they would be put into misery and hardship by travelling 15 kilometres to prefer any grievance or complaint. Expressing their grievance, the petitioner had submitted a representation dated 3.2.2018 seeking for reconsideration of the above alterations and having found no action on the part of the authorities, filed the present writ petition.

3. Having heard the learned counsel appearing for the parties and considering the facts and circumstances of the case, we make it clear that the representation, which is said to have been submitted, be taken note of and it is for the authorities to do the needful. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
