ORDER

The writ petition has been filed challenging the order dated 06.01.2009, passed by the second respondent in Su.Thu.Na.Ka.Vsi.No. 3224/2004, thereby rejecting the request made by the petitioner to appoint him in the post of "Vettiyan" in Saidapet Burial Ground. 2.

The petitioner's father was an employee of Hindu burial ground as Vettiyan at West Saidapet, Chennai and he died on 19.07.1984. Therefore, the petitioner submitted his representation to appoint him in the post of Vettiyan in the burial ground on compassionate ground. However, the said request was rejected by the second respondent, as against which the petitioner filed the present writ petition.

3.

No one is appearing on behalf of the petitioner. Heard the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent and perused the material placed before this Court.

4.

It is seen that the petitioner's father died on 19.07.1984,

whereas the petitioner requested the respondents for his appointment in the said post on 02.05.2002. That apart, as of now, there is no such post is in existence in the burial ground. Further the petitioner's father was not working as regular employee. Therefore, the claim made by the petitioner rightly rejected by the second respondent and this Court finds no infirmity or illegality in the order passed by the second respondent. 5.

Accordingly, the Writ Petition stands dismissed.

Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. There shall be no order as to costs.
