Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 and 2 to forthwith consider the representation dated 18.03.2004 and 26.07.2004 of the petitioner and direct the third respondent to forthwith pay the petitioner the amount of Rs.15,000/- towards the draught relief fund which was sanctioned to the petitioner .

This writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents 1 and 2 to consider the petitioner's representation dated 18.03.2004 for giving the balance sum of Rs.15000/- towards the drought relief fund, which was sanctioned to the petitioner.

2. According to the petitioner , the Government has sanctioned a sum of Rs.25,000/- towards the drought relief to the petitioner. Out of which, a sum of Rs.10000/- has been paid to th petiitoner and the remaining sum of Rs.15000/- is yet to be paid. Hence, he made a representation to the second respondent. But so far, no order has been passed on the representation. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the second respondent submitted that they are not able to trace the relevant records and as soon as the records are traced, they will consider the petitioner's representation.

4. Considering the above fact , without going into the merits of the case, the respondents 1 and 2 are directed to consider the representation of the petitioner and pass suitable orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous petition is closed.
