The Director of Medical Education, Kilpauk, Chennai. ...Respondents in both W.Ps Prayer in W.P.No.7379 of 2004: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, calling for the records on the file of the 2nd respondent pertaining to G.O.(Ms).No.130 & 131, Health and Family Welfare Department dated 17.05.2003 and quash the same as being without authority and consequently forbear the respondents from interfering with the admission process for Post-Graduate Courses in the petitioner college for the academic year 2004-2005 and thereafter permit the petitioner to continue their admissions as in the previous years.

Prayer in W.P.No.7380 of 2004: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, forbearing the respondents from interfering in any manner with the admission process for the Medical, Nursing and Para-medical, Graduate and Diploma Courses in the petitioner college for the academic year 2004-2005 thereby permitting the college to continue their admissions as in the previous years. For Petitioner : Mr.Krishna Srinivasan in both W.Ps for S.Ramasubramaniam and Associates For Respondents : Mr.A..Rajaperumal in both W.Ps Additional Government Pleader for R1 to R3 & R5.

O R D E R

The learned counsel for the petitioner has made the following endorsement in the writ petitions to the effect that: " The writ petitions may be dismissed as infructuous, since it relates to admissions for the year 2004-05. However, the legal issues raised in the writ petition may be kept open. "
