ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents and more particularly the first respondent to consider and pass appropriate orders on the representation of the petitioner Company dated 19.12.2023 received by the 1st respondent on 21.12.2023 wherein a request has been made for payment Page No.2 of 6
of pending bills as raised by the petitioner Company for the work orders issued by the respondents 2 to 4, within a reasonable time frame as may be fixed by this Court.
2. Heard Mr.C.P.Sivamohan, learned counsel for the petitioner and Ms.Shakila Banu, learned Standing Counsel for the respondents.
3. The petitioner Company was issued with the work order by the first respondent for the purpose of providing WSIS Facility at Thirutani Municipality, Combined Water Supply to Town Panchayats in Sivagangai and Singampunari Unions, CWSS to Town Panchayats in Salem District, Cuddalore District and for Augmentation of Water Supply in Coimbatore and Tiruppur Districts.
4. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the work has been carried out as per the work order and the bills have been raised periodically. But the first respondent has not settled the bills till date. The outstanding on the unsettled bills have accrued to a hefty sum of Page No.3 of 6
Rs.126.39 Crores. The petitioner has sent a representation to the first respondent on 19.12.2023. But so far, no action has been taken towards settling the bills of the petitioner. Therefore, the petitioner is before this Court.
5. The learned Standing Counsel for the respondents submitted that the first respondent will settle the bills pending to the petitioner within a time limit as may be fixed by this Court.
6. In view of the above submissions, this Writ Petition is disposed and the first respondent is directed to settle the bills pending to the petitioner within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
