ORDER

M.S.RAMESH, J.

AND SUNDER MOHAN, J.

With the claim that the petitioner's daughter, namely Praveena, W/o.Sekar, aged about 41 years, is in illegal custody of the third respondent herein, the petitioner had lodged a complaint on 21.10.2023 before the first respondent Police. Thereafter, a notice for conducting inquiry was served on the petitioner on 27.10.2023 by the second respondent. Since the petitioner's case was not registered, she has given another complaint on 29.01.2024, seeking for registration of case and for securing her daughter from the illegal custody of the third respondent. The petitioner has also given a complaint dated 23.08.2023 to first respondent/Commissioner. Since there was no further progress in the petitioner's complaint, she has filed the present Habeas Corpus Petition.

2. Today, when the matter was called, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the investigation is under process in the petitioner's complaint.

3. Since the petitioner's complaint is in the process of investigation, we deem it fit that the first and second respondents could be directed to expedite the investigation and file a final report.

4. In view of this decision, the prayer sought for in the present Habeas Corpus Petition does not require consideration. Accordingly, there shall be a direction to the first and second respondents herein, to expedite the investigation and file a final report, as expeditiously as possible.

5. With the above direction, the Habeas Corpus Petition stands closed. [M.S.R., J] [S.M., J] 14.02.2024 Index: Yes/No Internet: Yes/No Sni
