ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to set aside the order passed by the learned Special Judge under the TNPID Act, Chennai, in Crl.M.P.No.23 of 2026 dated 21.01.2026 and consequently to relax the condition directing the petitioner to appear before the respondent police every Monday until further orders.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is working in an IT company and the condition of appearing before the respondent police every Monday is causing difficulty in attending his work. It is further submitted that the petitioner has already been enlarged on statutory bail and he has been strictly complying with the conditions imposed by the Court. Therefore, there is no likelihood of the petitioner absconding or tampering with the evidence.

3. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondent submitted that the learned Special Judge considering the overt acts attributed against the petitioner, refused to modify the conditions imposed while granting bail.

4. This Court has considered the submissions made on either side and perused the materials available on record.

5. It is seen that the petitioner has been enlarged on statutory bail and he has been complying with the bail conditions from 24.11.2025 regularly. Taking into consideration the nature of the request made by the petitioner and the fact that he is employed in a private company, this Court is of the view that the condition requiring the petitioner to appear before the respondent police every

Monday at 10.30 a.m until further orders may be modified.

Accordingly, the order passed by the learned Special Judge under the TNPID Act, Chennai, in Crl.M.P.No.23 of 2026 dated 21.01.2026 is modified to the effect that the petitioner shall appear before the respondent police on every alternate Monday at 10.30 a.m. for a period of six months, and thereafter as and when required for investigation.

7. With the above modification, this Criminal Original Petition stands ordered.
