The petitioners, who apprehend arrest for the offences punishable under Sections 147, 148, 294(b) and 324 IPC r/w Sections 3(1)(r), 3(1)(s) and 3(2)(va) of the SC and ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Amendment Act 2015, in Crime No.114 of 2017 on the file of the respondent Police, have filed this petition seeking a direction to the learned First Additional Sessions Judge, Thanjavur, to consider their bail application on the same day on merits.

2.Mr.C.Emalias, learned Additional Public Prosecutor, takes notice for the respondent.

4.Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, the learned First Additional Sessions Judge, Thanjavur is directed to accept the surrender of the petitioners and consider their bail application on the very same day purely on the basis of merits and to pass suitable orders, in the event of the petitioners surrendering before the said court within 15 days from today and filing of petition seeking bail. 5.This petition is ordered accordingly.
