ORDER
Mr.T.M. Rajangam, learned Government Advocate takes notice for the 2nd respondent and Mr.A.C. Mani Bharathi, learned counsel takes notice for the 1st respondent. By consent of both the parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
2. The relief sought in this writ petition is a direction to the respondents to consider petitioner's representation dated 18.09.2025 so as to finalise the audit paras if any and settle the same pending in Greater Chennai Corporation, within a reasonable period as may be fixed by this Court, considering the fact that the petitioner is due to retire on 30.06.2026.
3. It is the case of the petitioner that he is presently working as Regional Director of Municipal Administration, Vellore Region, Vellore, is due to retire from service on attaining the age of superannuation on 30.06.2026. The petitioner had earlier served as Municipal Commissioner in various Municipalities and also as Assistant Commissioner in the Greater Chennai Corporation during the years 2020-2021 in Zone VI and from 04.04.2025 to 21.04.2025 in Zone IV. In view of his impending retirement, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 18.09.2025 to the 1st respondent seeking furnishing of copies of audit paras, if any, pending against him or, in the
alternative, issuance of a 'No Objection Certificate' certifying that no audit para is pending against him. Since no action has been taken, the present writ petition has been filed seeking appropriate directions.
4. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that it would suffice if this Court issues a direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 18.09.2025, within a short time frame to be fixed by this Court.
5. Learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents submitted that there are no adverse remarks as against the petitioner and that, if no audit objection is pending, the appropriate 'No Objection Certificate' will be issued by the 2nd respondent within a period to be fixed by this Court.
6. Considering the limited relief sought, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this Court directs the 2nd respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 18.09.2025 and, if there are no adverse audit remarks pending against the petitioner, to issue the necessary 'No Objection Certificate', within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
