This Writ Petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the respondents to pass orders on the representation of the petitioner dated 29.06.2017, followed by reminder representation dated 17.01.2018, seeking appropriate placement in the seniority list of Women SubInspector of Police on merits and within a time to be stipulted by this Court.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner as well as the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

3. Despite the notice being issued as early as on 23.04.2018, the respondents have not chosen to file counter.

4. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that since the petitioner sought for limited relief, no useful purpose would be served by seeking counter affidavit from the respondents and as such this Writ Petition may be disposed of with a direction to dispose of the representation of the petitioner dated 29.06.2017, within stipulated period.

5. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents has no objection for the same. 6.Considering the limited scope of prayer sought for in this Writ Petition and also considering the submissions made by the learned counsel appearing on either side, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 29.06.2017 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
