Writ petition filed under Section 226 of the Constitution of India seeking to issue a writ of Mandamus, directing the 1st respondent to dispose the Review Petition dated 25.08.2020 preferred by the petitioner (through proper channel) against the punishment order made in G.O.(D).No.97 Home (Police-V) Department dated 27.01.2020 within the period that may be stipulated by this Court.

By consent of both parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

This writ petition has been filed seeking to direct the 1st respondent to dispose the Review Petition dated 25.08.2020 preferred by the petitioner (through proper channel) against the punishment order made in G.O.(D).No.97 Home (Police-V) Department dated 27.01.2020 within the period that may be stipulated by this Court.
3. According to the petitioner, challenging the punishment order passed by the 1st respondent vide G.O.(D).No.97 Home (Police V) Department, dated 27.01.2020 rejecting his claim and awarding a punishment of stoppage of increment for three years without cumulative effect, the petitioner has filed a Review Petition before the 1st respondent on 25.08.2020. So far, no order has been passed. Hence, the petitioner has filed this writ petition.
4. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submitted that if the said Review Petition is pending with the 1st respondent, the same will be considered on merits and in accordance with law.
5. Inview of the above submission and also considering the limited scope of prayer, without expressing any opinion on merits, this court is inclined to direct the 1st respondent to consider the petitioner's Review Petition dated 25.08.2020, if it is pending and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. With the above direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
