Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the 1st respondent to grant house site patta to the petitioners for their respective portions, based on the recommendation made by the 2nd respondent in Na.Ka.Aa1/2014/2024 dated ..09.2024 and the letter of the 3rd respondent dated 30.09.2024 in Na.Ka.Aa1/230/2021, by considering our representations dated 09.10.2023, 20.12.2023, 11.03.2024, 21.10.2024, 13.11.2024, 18.11.2024 & 31.12.2024. ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed for the issue of writ of mandamus directing the 1st respondent to deal with the representations made by the petitioners wherein the petitioners have sought for grant of house site patta for the subject property as per the recommendations made by the 2nd and 3rd respondents through individual proceedings.
2.Heard Mr.P.Krishnan, the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner and Mr.A.Selvendran, the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.
3.It is not necessary for this Court to go into the various details of this case 2/4
since similarly placed persons approached the division bench of this Court in W.P.Nos.744 etc. of 2025 challenging their eviction. Those writ petitions were disposed of by an order dated 21.01.2025 by taking notice of the reports / proceedings submitted by the 2nd and 3rd respondents. A specific direction was given to the 1st respondent viz. the District Collector to pass appropriate orders within a time frame. A similar direction can be issued in this writ petition also. 4.In view of the above, there shall be a direction to the 1st respondent to deal with the representations made by the petitioners seeking for house site patta based on the recommendations made by 2nd and 3rd respondents and appropriate orders shall be passed by the 1st respondent within a period of six (6) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
