The petitioner/Accused who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the alleged offences under Sections 6(2)(3) of TNSC (RDCS) order 1982 r/w Section 7(1)(a)(ii)EC Act 1955 in Crime No.2 of 2024 on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail.

2. It is stated by the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) that the petitioner is working as Salesman at Ration shop at Harichandrapuram, Tiruttani Taluk, Tiruvallur District. He had caused loss to the Primary Agricultural Co-operative Credit Society to an extent of Rs.2,48,900/-. It is stated that when audit was done, there was a shortage in stock of rice, sugar, wheat, dhal and cooking oil.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner stated that the petitioner had paid back the money. That would hardly compensate for the loss of stock, which should have been distributed to those who needed them and who had ration cards. The petitioner has also been suspended. 1/3

4. Therefore, I am not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

5. Accordingly, these Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. 08.02.2024 mjs 2/3
