Crl OP No.8555 of 2017 N. ANAND VENKATESH, J., Mr.Viswesharaiah, the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Neelangarai who is investigating this case was present at the time of hearing. Mr.Veerakumar, the Inspector of Police, Kannagi Nagar Police Station, Chennai-600 097, was also present at the time of hearing.

2. The third respondent has filed a status report. It is seen from the status report that till now, 40 witnesses have been examined by the Investigating Officer and their statements have also been recorded. That apart, there is a reference to nearly 23 documents that have been collected in the course of investigation. The Investigating Officer found some contradictions between the inquest report of the Magistrate and the postmortem report and hence, the Investigating Officer has sought for second opinion from the Directorate of Medical Education regarding the cause of death of the deceased Karthik. That apart, steps have also been taken to record the statement of 5 witnesses under Section 164 of Cr.P.C. before the Judicial https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis/ Magistrate, Alandur.
