The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking a direction to the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 21.11.2022 seeking compensation for the loss sustained by the petitioner due to an electric short circuit which occurred on 15.10.2022, allegedly owing to the negligence of the officials of the Electricity Board.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that due to electric short circuit, the petitioner lost his house as well as his decoration business and thereby, the livelihood of the petitioner has caused great prejudice. Hence, he prays for issuance of a direction to the 1st respondent to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 21.11.2022, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

3. Mr.M. Rajendiran, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that the petitioner's representation would be considered on merits and in accordance with law, within the stipulated time fixed by this Court.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and having regard to the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, this Court directs the 1st respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 21.11.2022 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. clear that this Court is not expressing any opinion on the merits of the case.

5. With the above directions, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
