ORDER
This writ petition has been filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondent police to give police protection and permission to conduct the cultural programme at Kamarajar Nagar, Panai Madal Post, Pethanaickanpalayam Post, Salem District, on 13.04.2017, in the event of Sri Koothandavar Temple festival, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 04.04.2017.
2.It is the grievance of the petitioner that he has submitted a representation dated 04.04.2017 to the respondent, seeking permission to conduct Cultural Programme at Kamarajar Nagar, Panai Madal Post, Pethanaickanpalayam Post, Salem District, on 13.04.2017, in the event of Sri Koothandavar Temple festival. However, the respondent has not passed any orders on the said representation. Hence this writ petition. 3.Though the petitioner sought for permission to conduct "cultural programme", learned counsel for the petitioner restricted the same to the extent of conducting Orchestra, for https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
which, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent has raised no serious objection. 4.In view of the submission so made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, the respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 04.04.2017 and grant permission to the petitioner to conduct Orchestra at Kamarajar Nagar, Panai Madal Post, Pethanaickanpalayam Post, Salem District, on 13.04.2017, in the event of Sri Koothandavar Temple festival, subject to usual conditions. It is made clear that this Court has not granted any direction to conduct "Adal Padal Nigazhchi / dance programme" in the name of "cultural programme".
