This writ petition has been filed for the issue of a writ of mandamus directing respondents 2 to 4 to consider the representation made by the petitioners on 17.10.2024, wherein the petitioners are seeking for restoring the patta in the name of the petitioners with respect to the agricultural lands comprised in Survey No.266. 2.The main grievance that was expressed by the petitioners is that the property originally stood in the name of Vela Kaliammal, who is the mother of the petitioners. Patta also stood in her name. While so, without any enquiry or notice, the names of nearly ten persons have been added as joint patta holders. 3.When the matter came up for hearing on 06.02.2025, this Court directed the learned Special Government Pleader to take instructions from the 4th respondent regarding the names of persons that has been added in the patta and under what proceedings, their names came to be added in the patta. 4.When the matter was taken up for hearing today, the learned Special 2 / 4
Government Pleader produced the relevant documents which shows that the original patta stood in the name of Vela Kaliammal and thereafter, the names of several persons have been added from the year 2013 onwards. 5.Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the materials placed before this Court, there shall be a direction to the 3rd respondent to deal with the representation made by the petitioners on 17.10.2024, by issuing notice to all persons whose names are found as joint patta holders with respect to the subject property and an order shall be passed on its own merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of copy of the order.
