O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the 2nd respondent to dispose of the pending appeal dated 19.11.2012 against the order of the Settlement Officer dated 28.09.2012.

2.When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents admitted that the appeal filed by the petitioner is pending for the past six years and at present, the post of 2nd respondent viz., the Director, The Directorate of Survey and Land Records, Government of Puducherry, Puducherry is vacant. Hence, the learned Government Advocate requested this Court to issue suitable direction to the Officer, who is holding the additional charge of the post of the 2nd respondent.

3.Taking into consideration the submission made by the learned Government Advocate (Pondy) and also taking note of the fact that the post of the 2nd respondent is laying vacant, this Court directs the Officer In-Charge of the 2nd respondent's Office to consider the pending appeal of the petitioner dated 19.11.2012 on merits and in accordance with law and pass orders within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4.With these directions, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
