ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of writ of mandamus, directing the respondent herein to consider and dispose of the Petitioners application dated 12.03.2025 and representation dated 24.01.2026 seeking allotment of one vacant "B" Type Government PWD Rental Quartes at Todd Hunter Nagar, Saidapet, Chennai and consequently allot and handover possession of one vacant "B" Type Quarters to the Petitioner within a time frame.
2. With the consent of the learned counsel appearing on either side, this Writ Petition is taken up for final hearing at the admission stage.
3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit the petitioner is a Government servant working as Post Graduate Assistant (Tamil) at Maraimalai Nagar Adigal Government Higher Secondary School, Pallavaram, Chennai and she is residing with her husband and two minor children in Chennai in private rental house and paying higher rent thereby, the petitioner made a representation dated 12.03.2025 seeking allotment of one vacant "B" Type Government PWD Rental Quartes at Todd Hunter Nagar, Saidapet, Chennai. Since the same was not considered, she made another representation dated 24.01.2026 however, till date, no order was passed, the present writ petition is filed.
4. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent would submit that the respondent will consider the representation of the petitioner and pass appropriate orders on the same within a specified time.
5. In view of the above, there will be a direction to the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 24.01.2026 and pass appropriate orders on the same, in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
