O R D E R

The order of rejection dated 02.02.2004 issued by the respondents rejecting the claim of the writ petitioner for selection to the post of Constable Grade-II in Tamil Nadu Police Service is under challenge in the present writ petition. 2.The petitioner applied for recruitment to the post of Police Constable Grade-II, in Tamil Nadu Police Service. The writ petitioner had participated in the process of selection and passed in the written examination, thereafter he appeared for physical verification test and for endurance test. petitioner on the ground that he suppressed the registration of a criminal case in Crime No.13/2003 before the Panavadali Chathiram Police Station at Tirunelveli District. In the above criminal case, the charge against the writ petitioner was proved and he paid a fine amount of Rs.250/- on 28.01.2003.

3. This Court is of an opinion that, suppression of the registration of the criminal case or disposal of the criminal case is also a ground to reject the selection. The selection is for the post of Police Constable which is a Uniformed Services. Thus, the suppression of material facts in the application is a vital factor for rejection of application itself.

4. This apart, even on the time of the filing of writ petition, the writ petitioner was aged about 27 years and now he would about 40 years, for all these reasons, the writ petitioner is not eligible to seek recruitment to the post of Police Constable Grade-II. This apart, there is no infirmity as such in respect of the order impugned passed in the present writ petition.

5. Accordingly, the writ petition stands dismissed. No Costs.
