O R D E R
The relief sought for in the present writ petition is for a direction to direct the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 03.12.2018 and further, direct the respondents to give employment to the 2nd petitioner in Ayyal Agriculture Service Cooperative Society land bank, Nemeli taluk, Vellore District.
2.The Co-operative Society, registered under the provisions of the Tamil Nadu Co-operative Societies Act is not a "State" within the meaning of Article 12 of the Constitution of India. Thus, the writ petitioner has to approach the competent authorities under the provisions of the Act for the purpose of redressal of his grievances.
3.The writ petitioners claim employment on the basis of some priority and all such issues can be adjudicated by the Registrar, if the statutory revision/appeal is filed before the competent authorities.
4.The legal principles in respect of the maintainability of the writ petition had been settled by the Larger Bench of this Court in the case of Marappan and others Vs. Deputy Registrar of Co-operative Societies, Namakkal reported in 2006 (4) CTC 689.
5.Thus, the writ petitioners are at liberty to approach the competent authorities for the redressal of their grievances in the manner known to law.
6.With these observations, the writ petition stands dismissed as not maintainable. However, there shall be no order as to costs.
