O R D E R

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the second respondent to investigate the case and file final report in Crime No. 65 of 2016 pending on his file.

2. The case of the petitioner is that as against one Selvaraj, he has lodged a complaint with the second respondent on 25.10.2016 and the same was registered as FIR in Crime No.65 of 2016 for the offences under Sections 406 and 420 IPC. Thereafter, no steps have been taken by the respondent police to conduct enquiry and file final report. Hence, this petition.

3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, who took notice for the respondents.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court directs the second respondent to conduct investigation and file final report in Crime No.65 of 2016 pending on his file, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. The Criminal Original Petition is disposed of accordingly.
