This writ petition has been filed for direction to the first respondent to consider the representation submitted by the petitioner dated 12.01.2021 seeking action as against the second respondent in respect of awarding Ph.D. in favour of the third respondent. 2.
The petitioner got married the third respondent and subsequently they got separated. Thereafter, they also obtained divorce decree before the court of law. The petitioner submitted representation seeking action as against the second respondent in respect of awarding Ph.D. degree in favour of the third respondent alleging that the third respondent was an average student during school and college days. The second respondent and the third respondent colluded together and indulged in corrupt practice thereby awarding Ph.D. degree in favour of the third respondent. It is seen that since the petitioner got separated from 2/6
the third respondent, in order to wreak vengeance as against the third respondent, he made representation as against the second and third respondents.

On perusal of counter filed by the first respondent revealed that the third respondent had joined Ph.D. programme in the Department of Economics in the first respondent University on 08.11.2010 under full time mode under the guidance of the second respondent. The third respondent had submitted her Ph.D. thesis entitled "Economic Valuation of Women's Unpaid Work: A Study in Villupuram District, Tamilnadu" on 07.11.2017. She had also completed viva-voce examination on 13.07.2018 as per the University guidelines. Therefore, there is no violation of University Rules at the time submission and the date of award of Ph.D. degree to the third respondent. 4.
That apart, the petitioner has no locus to challenge the awarding of Ph.D. degree in favour of the third respondent. If any irregularity or illegality committed during the award of Ph.D. degree in favour of the third respondent, the first respondent is there to look after. 3/6

In view of the above, this writ petition is devoid of merits and liable to be dismissed. Accordingly, this writ petition is dismissed. There shall be no order as to costs.
