This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the second respondent to enquire and provide necessary police protection to the petitioner and his property as and when threat is meted out based on the petitioner's complaint dated 21.10.2023.
2. Heard Mr.K.S.Ilangovan, learned counsel for petitioner and Mr.A.Damodaran, learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for respondents 1 and 2.
3. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor, on instructions, submitted that the representation/complaint given by the petitioner was taken on file in CSR No.871 of 2023. Since there was no co-operation from the petitioner, it was closed on 29.11.2023.

4. Learned counsel for petitioner submitted that the petitioner will co-operate for the enquiry by giving a fresh complaint.
5. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the nature of grievance that was expressed by the petitioner, there shall be a direction to the petitioner to submit a fresh complaint before the first respondent. On receipt of the same, the first respondent is directed to conduct an enquiry and take a decision in accordance with law within a period of two (2) weeks from the date of receipt of the complaint from the petitioner. The petitioner is also directed to cooperate for the enquiry. This Writ Petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
