ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondent to pay the petitioner a sum of Rs 32,379.50/- towards the surrendered leave salary and to pay the petitioner interest at the rate of 18% annum for the belated payment of 366 days in paying his PF, Gratuity and Earned Leave Salary with interest at the rate of 18 percentage and to pay the sum of Rs. 18,100/- towards STERBS with interest at the rate of 18 percentage to the petitioner.

2. With the consent of the learned counsel appearing on either side, this Writ Petition is taken up for disposal at the admission stage.

It is the case of the petitioner that the petitioner, who had joined the services of the respondent Corporation, had retired from service on 31.03.2020, however, the terminal benefits such as PF, Gratuity, and Earned Leave Salary have been settled only on 02.06.2021, which is after a delay of 366 days. Therefore, the petitioner claimed 18% interest on the belated payment of terminal benefits and also claimed a sum of Rs.18,000/- towards STERBS contribution together with interest and surrender leave salary. Regarding the same, he has also made representation on 12.09.2025, which has not been evoked any response so far. Hence, the petitioner is before this Court.

4. Heard the learned counsels appearing on either side and perused the materials available on record.

In view of the limited request made by the petitioner with regard to interest on the belated payment of terminal benefits, this Court directs the respondent to pay interest @ 6% for the belated payment of terminal benefits from the date of retirement till the date of actual disbursal of terminal benefits of the petitioner and also pay the eligible amount towards STERBS contribution and surrendered leave salary to the petitioner, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order taking into account the bank rate of interest on deposits.

6. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
