Ms.J.Priscilla Pandian, learned Junior Standing Counsel accepts notice for R1 and Mr.Vadivelu Deenadayalan, learned additional Government Pleader accepts notice for R2 and both learned counsels are armed with instructions enabling final disposal of the matter.

2.The petitioner has approached this Court in a hurry. He seeks a mandamus directing R1 to consider his application that has been filed only on 02.01.2022, for re-issuance of passport. Moreover, the petitioner has, in para 5 of the affidavit, stated https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

that there is a criminal case in Crime No.282 of 2020, pending before the Inspector of Police, Sendurai Police Station, Ariyalur.

3.Thus re-issuance of the passport will depend on the fate of the enquiry to be conducted by the authorities. This writ petition is dismissed. No costs.
