B3/ 0181/ 2026 dated 20.01.2026 and in the alternate to direct the 1st respondent to accept the tender documents to be uploaded by the petitioner without insisting the production of working condition of Machinery Certificate from the 2nd respondent for the above said works. The petitioner intends to participate in the Tender called for improvement of interior roads by the Greater Chennai Corporation. One of the requirements for participation in the Tender is the issuance of a Machinery Certificate. As per the Notification, the last date for opening of the Tender is 30.01.2026. 2.The petitioner approached the officials of the Greater Chennai Corporation for issuance of the Machinery Certificate. As the same had not been issued, the petitioner is before this Court. 3.When the matter was mentioned this morning, I directed the learned counsel for the petitioner to serve papers on Mr.E.C.Ramesh, learned Standing Counsel appearing for the Greater Chennai Corporation. 4.Mr.E.C.Ramesh, on instructions, reports that though the tender was originally scheduled to be opened on 30.01.
2026, it has now been postponed to 04.02.2026. He further states that the Machinery Certificate will be issued to the petitioner on or before 02.02.2026. He states that if the petitioner approaches the officials of the Greater Chennai Corporation at any time before 02.02.2026, the Certificate will be issued. His statement is recorded. 5.This writ petition stands disposed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
